The Finnish Food Authority supervises the entire production chain from the seed grower’s field to the marketplace.
This ensures that all seed sold meets legal requirements and is healthy, free from unwanted seeds, true to type and has a good germination rate. Certified seed is identified by the sealed package label. Seed cleaning and packing are licensed operations.

All Boreal varieties undergo a rigorous testing program. Only the best proceed to basic seed production, from which they move through seed companies to farmers. Basic seed is cleaned, stored and packed at Boreal’s own seed centre in Jokioinen.
