Our work plays a significant role in the domestic food chain. Our task is to ensure the breeding of crop varieties suited to northern conditions, meeting market needs and improving the profitability and competitiveness of Finnish agriculture and food production. We also have the tools to tailor specialised products to our customers’ individual needs — a good example is the Pekka special malting barley developed for Viking Malt.
