Diandra is a very high yielding timothy variety. It starts growing early in the spring and after cutting, producing an abundant regrowth— bred with Boreal’s Nordic expertise for northern conditions.
Diandra heads at the same time as Grindstad.
Diandra belongs to the earlier type of timothy varieties, whose digestibility is not at the same level as the later quality timothy types. Relative to its earliness, however, Diandra’s D value is slightly higher than that of the control variety Grindstad.
The variety is suitable for silage, hay, and pasture.
The variety is resistant to leaf spot diseases occurring in Finland.
In zones IV–V in Finland, Diandra has shown more winter damage than other Boreal timothy varieties. For this reason, Diandra is recommended as a mixture component for the northernmost parts of Finland.
Suitable for all soil types. Recommended for zones I–IV in Finland, and for zone V only in mixtures.
