Rhonia is a high‑yielding and winter‑hardy timothy variety. Thanks to its strong yield potential and excellent winter hardiness, Rhonia brings clear added value to timothy cultivation in Finland. In Finnish official variety trials, Rhonia’s dry matter yield has been among the best in the variety set. It has performed very competitively at different stand ages and trial sites. Rhonia’s regrowth is also very good. The forage quality of Rhonia is good when cuts are made on time. Its D value is higher than that of the control variety Grindstad, both in the first cut and in the regrowth.

Rhonia has excellent winter hardiness, among the best of all timothy varieties. In Finnish official trials its winter damage percentage has been very low.
