The first‑cut yield is high, and its regrowth capacity in the second and third cuts is top class. Santtu’s forage quality also compares well with other meadow fescue varieties. The digestibility value (D‑value) has been good in all cuts in official trials.
Santtu is well suited to grass mixtures for both silage fields and pastures.
Santtu has top‑class winter hardiness. In Finnish official trials its winter damage has been among the lowest of all meadow fescue varieties.
