Karolina has shown strong yield performance even under demanding conditions. Its winter hardiness is clearly reflected in yield, as trials show it performs best in:
Karolina maintains a high yield level from year to year better than meadow fescues. Its regrowth capacity is excellent, especially in dry growing conditions. Karolina produces good yields compared to meadow fescue. Karolina has excellent digestibility. In trials, the D‑value describing forage digestibility has been comparable to commonly grown meadow fescue varieties and better than other tall fescue varieties. The first cut for tall fescue is recommended at the beginning of heading.
Karolina is very well suited for silage production.
Karolina is among the best tall fescues in winter hardiness. It has performed well even in Lapland (cultivation zone V).
Recommended for zones I, II, III, IV and V in Finland.
