Tenho is an extremely high yielding timothy variety, producing top yields in the first cut. The yield is also high in the regowth. Tenho is characterized by rapid regrowth after cutting, making it suitable for pasture stands. In the Boreal trials, Tenho has been found to combine very well with red clover, tall fescue and meadow fescue. Tenho’s digestibility declines slowly during the first cut. Likewise, protein content remains at a high level for a long time. The regrowth is leafy and highly digestible.
Recommended for silage and hay production, as well as a timothy component in pasture mixtures.
In Finnish official variety trials, Tenho’s winter hardiness has been at a top level. This allows the variety to be grown all the way to the northernmost parts of Finland.
