An early synthetic spring turnip rape variety whose yield and quality approach turnip rape. The same strong cultivation stability, but higher oil content than the first new‑generation turnip rapes, developed with Boreal’s Nordic expertise.
Sinuhe is an early synthetic spring turnip rape variety with growth duration similar to Synthia, the reference variety in official trials. Suitable for cultivation across Finland’s oilseed production area, zones I–IV.
Sinuhe is a very high‑yielding variety. In Finland’s official trials (2019–2020) it was the highest‑yielding spring turnip rape. Sinuhe yielded 6% more than Synthia.
Sinuhe has excellent quality. In Finnish official variety trials, it recorded:
Its earliness increases reliability, indicated by low chlorophyll content. Sinuhe is excellent for the vegetable oil industry.
Sinuhe has a slightly longer stem than Synthia and is not quite as strong‑stemmed. However, its lodging resistance is average for modern varieties. Comparable to SW Petita. For example, Sinuhe has a stronger stem than Cordelia.
Crop rotation is essential to reduce Sclerotinia and clubroot. A 4–5 year break from oilseed crops is recommended, and breaks should also be kept from other Sclerotinia hosts (caraway, pea, faba bean, potato, clovers). A fungicide spray is recommended if:
Sinuhe is recommended for zones I–IV. Performs well on all soil types but not recommended for drought‑prone fields. Recommended sowing rate: 1 unit/ha = 6–7 kg depending on unit size. On humus‑rich and moist soils, emergence is more uniform and lodging more likely → sowing rate may be reduced.
