Challenging summer’s cultivation experiences flatter Maire barley

Initial experiences confirm what trials suggested:
The early two‑row Maire BOR barley is:

• a variety that benefits from attentive management
• exceptionally high‑yielding for its earliness
• large‑grained

Farmer experiences were collected during the dry summer of 2023, with 12 farmers from across the recommended growing area — stretching to favourable parts of Northern Ostrobothnia.

Maire’s combination of earliness + yield is exceptional — supported by strong tillering.

• near-neutral pH

• less than half had used them
• yet some lodging was observed

• relatively high hectolitre weight
